Client feedback: "You should be proud of the design - it is lovely and clean, it is fast and there is no clutter. People are continuing to send me congratulatory emails, and much of the credit rightly belongs to you. migraine.co.nz
The NZ Migraine Sufferers Support Group had an existing, but somewhat broken site which they asked me to repair. As it relied on Javascript for navigation, table layout, inline formatting and offered no possibility for member interaction, I suggested we start from scratch and build a simple replacement utilising WordPress' extensive built-in functionality. This site attracted it's first registration less than 24 hours after re-launch.
Client feedback: "fast - effective - fantastic - patient; says it all."

manalive.org.nz
Man Alive is a provider of programmes and services for men and boys.
Both potential clients and other agencies need to research details about what they offer.
In Sept 2003 ManAlive.org.nz was voted 'Site of the Month' by CommunityNet Aotearoa - an internet resource supporting communities throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. The reviewer said: "The Man Alive site makes an initial very good impression. The page is attractive, the font clear and readable. The page scales beautifully whether you have a large or small window and the good looks are supported by clearly written text. Pictures are sparingly used to provide a lift to the page and it's pleasing to see
alternate text for those whose graphics don't load. Pages load very quickly, as a result of sparse use of pictures and intelligent use
of style sheets and correct coding. Pages are made to be accessible to visitors with disabilities."

your web designer."

menz.org.nz
My first and largest site, built for a voluntary community organisation. MENZ Issues is now a WordPress weblog, with an number of regular contributing authors, a vocal group of users who leave comments, and an automatic mailing list system for subscribers. I have to admit the code on the old, 20th century pages is a bit horrifying if you look under the bonnet, but it demostrates how a website can build and inform a community.
